Algoma University reviews all applicants on an individual basis. Students with special/extenuating circumstances are encouraged to email Algoma’s Assistant Registrar, Shelley Mitchell or call 705-949-2301, ext. 4220.
Brock University will evaluate each applicant on an individual basis. Students may request an individual review by writing and sending a letter directly to Brock University. Any letters and/or supporting documentation should clearly articulate how the special circumstances have impacted their academic performance.

University of Guelph-Humber
The University of Guelph-Humber strongly encourages students applying with special/extenuating circumstances to submit a Guelph-Humber Student Profile.

If a student has extenuating circumstances that affected their grades, they should email Lakehead’s Student Central for more information or call 1-807-343-8500.
Students with special/extenuating circumstances are encouraged to email Laurentian University’s Office of Admissions or call 1-800-263-4188 for more information.
If a student has extenuating circumstances that may impact their academic performance, please contact McMaster through their live chat to submit McMaster’s Request for Special Consideration form. McMaster will direct students on the process and requirements as part of their admission.
Nipissing University encourages students to fill out Nipissing’s Extenuating Circumstances form. On Nipissing’s website, click “Extenuating Circumstances for Applicants to Undergraduate Programs” (under “Supplemental Forms”) to access the PDF application.
OCAD University reviews all applicants on an individual basis. Applicants with special/extenuating circumstances are encouraged to email OCAD University’s Admissions & Recruitment Office.
Ontario Tech University
Student whose grades were affected by exceptional circumstances that they can document, are encouraged to email Ontario Tech University’s Office of the Registrar with the appropriate information or call 905-721-3190.

Students who wish to tell Ottawa about their personal journey, such as circumstances or challenges that may have influenced their grades, may fill out the University of Ottawa Declaration of Personal Experience form. This process is optional for Canadian students who applied to certain direct-entry faculties and wish to strengthen their application.

Saint Paul University
If a student experiences extenuating circumstances that could affect their application, they may email Saint Paul University who will determine if they can take the student’s situation into consideration when evaluating their file.

If there are any factors that clearly demonstrate significant extenuating circumstances beyond a student’s control that have affected their academic performance in high school at some point during the past 2 years, they should submit a separate letter with supporting documents through the Queen’s Request for Extenuating Circumstances form [PDF].
University of Toronto
If a student’s academic record has been negatively affected by extenuating circumstances, and their academic performance is below the usual requirements, they will have the opportunity to explain those circumstances. The University of Toronto may take this explanation into consideration during the admission process.

Toronto Metropolitan University
Toronto Metropolitan University is committed to reviewing each situation deemed reasonable on a case-by-case basis, in keeping with the principles of fairness and equity for all applicants. If an applicant feels that their academic performance has been impacted by events, barriers and/or other special or extenuating circumstances, they can complete Toronto Met’s Special Consideration Form. The form must be submitted prior to receiving an admission decision.
Trent University encourages students whose academic grades have been impacted by extenuating circumstances to complete an Extenuating Circumstance Supplemental Application.
After a student applies through the OUAC, they can access this application on the myTrent portal, under the “Academics” tab. The University will review each situation on a case‑by‑case basis.

University of Waterloo
If a student has significant circumstances that affected their grades and that were not accommodated through their school or relevant services, they can request special consideration for admission to Waterloo. We will review each situation on a case-by-case basis.
Western’s Special Consideration Profile provides an opportunity for students to share any extenuating circumstances that have adversely affected their grades with Western’s Admissions Committee.
Brescia University College
Brescia University College will evaluate each applicant on an individual basis. Students should submit a Brescia Application Profile [PDF].

Wilfrid Laurier University
If recent or present circumstances have impacted a student’s ability to achieve a strong academic standing, they should email a personal statement to Wilfrid Laurier University. It is the student’s decision to disclose any supporting details.

Students with special/extenuating circumstances are encouraged to email the University of Windsor’s Office of the Registrar to speak with an Admissions and Records Officer for more information. The University will review each situation on a case-by-case basis.
If an applicant believes their academic record may not meet the minimum admission requirements for their program of choice, we invite them to submit an explanation of unexpected events or barriers that may have impacted their academic performance. Their submission will be reviewed if they do not meet the minimum admission requirements.

If an applicant’s academic standing was impacted by extenuating circumstances, Glendon College encourages them to submit Glendon’s Extenuating Circumstances for Admission Consideration Form, which will be considered with their application.
